Running your own newspaper is no easy task, be it "The East Cheam Gazette" or "The Surrey Advertiser", or - as in Hancock's case - "The Sentinel". Hancock's main concern is what to do when there is no news to report. Should he do what any self-respecting newspaper editor does in that situation and make up the news himself?
This would be no problem, were it not for the fact that Hancock's crime reporter is one Sidney Balmoral James - a man who possesses an unerring talent for both creating all manner of crimes and then reporting them.
