Programme Guide
The wild dreams, the yearning of self-importance as built around Hancock - the dreamer as egotist - loom large in the "Half Hour" legend. Later on he dreams he is: Father Christmas, a doctor, a lion tamer, a test pilot and, maybe the most accomplished tall story when Hancock gives the Vicar the astonishing account of his war years in "Hancock's War".
For this story he starts at the top. Hancock, always seeing in himself more than there is to see, makes a momentous decision. He feels his 'talents' have always been underplayed for far too long and announces his intention to run for Parliament.
Then the dream takes over. Whilst contemplating his new course in life he falls asleep and dreams he has actually been elected to the House of Commons. Not only that but he is given the job of Prime Minister - a job to which he can but only lend his "particular" attributes.
