Programme Guide
Ebadiah Hancock relates the three separate stories of his three sons lives and careers.
This is another of the three-way split programmes used to ring the changes from the usual format from time to time.
In each of the three stories Hancock plays the son in question. First, there is a seafaring flavour aboard the tale of Rodney Hancock's naval
career. Then the scene changes dramatically to the back street world of hoods, mobsters, molls and easy money, recounting the rise of the
gangster Gideon Hancock. Flick-knives at the ready and eyes down for a concrete overcoat.
Finally, it's a quick change into surgical gowns and gum boots for the episode on Anthony Hancock, doctor. "You a doctor, then?" "No, I never really bothered."
Transmitted: Tuesday June 21st 1955 at 2130, BBC Light Programme.
Repeated: This show was not repeated, because of an unfortunate topical connotation. Instead, the repeat slot, on Sunday 26th June 1955, was filled with another airing of "Prime Minister Hancock" (number 7 in this series).
Recorded: the previous day, Monday June 20th 1955
