Tony Hancock - The Bournemouth Connection

To celebrate the life of Tony Hancock and to commemorate his links with the town of Bournemouth where he grew up, one of our members (writing under the pseudonym of L.M. Evans), has produced a work which consists of an unusual blend of show business, social history and geography into one volume and which is also a tribute to the town as it is to the man.

Consisting of just over 30,000 words and over 100 illustrations of which 70 have never before been published it would be especially fitting if this work could appear in 2016 which marks 40 years since the founding of of our Society and also 60 years since 'Hancock's Half Hour' first appeared on television.

One of our members is currently preparing a new book and is currently looking for a publisher.
